Military History Museum of
In 1950, the "Mother Armenia" memorial complex was opened in the Victory park. The architect of the building is Rafael Israelyan, and the author of statue of I. Stalin is Sergey Merkurov, but it was removed in 1962.
The project of the memorial complex is very intersting because it was designed according to the structure of the Armenian church. The total height is 51 meters. By visiting the museum, you can learn about the participation of the Armenian people in World War II and the Artsakh War.
The exhibition about the participation and role of the Armenian people during the Second World War is located on the first floor of the museum. Here are presented the 6 Armenian divisions, the activities of famous fighters and of course, the activities of Armenian marshals and generals.
On the 2nd floor, materials about the Artsakh liberation war, the national heroes of the Republic of Armenia and the heroes of Artsakh, the activities of famous and brave freedom fighters, the liberation of Shushi, the old capital of Artsakh, are displayed.
The museum has a banquet hall on the 3rd floor. In the area adjacent to the museum, you can see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and an open-air exhibition of weapons.
Events, open classes, meetings and concerts are often organized here.
